Settings and keyboard shortcuts
A short lookup page for the app's settings and shortcuts. For anything crawl-specific, the Crawl settings page goes deeper.
App settings
The app's settings cover a few areas:
- Appearance, including dark mode, which suits the developers and SEOs who live in it.
- Update checks, how the app looks for new versions. See How to update the app.
- Default crawl behavior, the starting values new projects use, which you can override per project.
- Data location, a way to open the folder where your projects and crawls are stored. See Where your crawl data is stored.
Crawl settings live per project
Crawl-specific options, the start URL, page limit, JavaScript rendering, access, and scope, are saved per project rather than globally, so each site keeps its own. They are documented in full on the Crawl settings and JavaScript rendering page.
Keyboard shortcuts
Common actions have keyboard shortcuts, and the exact key for each is shown next to its command in the app's menus, which are the authority if a binding differs from the table below.
| Action | Typical shortcut |
|---|---|
| New project | Command N |
| Start crawl | shown in the menu |
| Stop crawl | shown in the menu |
| Find or search | Command F |
| Settings | Command comma |
Frequently asked questions

Can I change the default crawl settings?
Yes. Set defaults in app settings, and override them per project when a site needs something different.
Where is the full list of keyboard shortcuts?
Next to each command in the app's menus. The menus always show the current bindings.
