The extension collects nothing.
Privacy policy for the Crawlpit Monster Quick On-page Check browser extension. Everything happens on your device, and no data is stored, transmitted, sold, or shared.
The short version
- The extension collects nothing. All analysis happens on your device.
- It reads only the active tab, and only at the moment you click the icon.
- Nothing is stored, sent, sold, or shared. No backend, no account, no tracking.
- The only network request is to the site you are already viewing, for its
robots.txt.
Crawlpit Monster - Quick On-page Check ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that shows the on-page SEO of the web page you are currently viewing. This policy explains exactly what it does and does not do with your data.
What the extension accesses
When, and only when, you click the extension's toolbar icon on a tab, it:
- Reads the rendered content of that one active tab: its HTML, including the title, meta description, headings, Open Graph tags, JSON-LD structured data, images, links, canonical, and meta-robots directives.
- Makes a single request to that same website's
/robots.txtfile, to determine whether the page is allowed to be indexed.
That is the full extent of what it touches. It does not run in the background, it does not read other tabs, and it does not act unless you click it.
What data we collect, store, or send
None.
- The extension does not collect or record any personal information.
- It does not store the pages you view, your browsing history, your URLs, or any analysis results.
- It does not send any data to us, to any server, or to any third party. There is no backend, no account, no login, and no analytics or tracking.
- It does not sell or share any data, because it has no data to sell or share.
All processing of the page happens locally in your browser and is discarded when you close the popup.
Permissions and why they are needed
activeTab
Grants temporary access to the single tab you are on, only at the moment you click the icon. This is what lets the extension read the current page. It is used deliberately instead of broad host permissions, so the extension has no standing access to any site.
scripting
Used to run a small, bundled function in that active tab that returns the page's rendered HTML and robots.txt for on-device analysis. No remote or dynamically downloaded code is executed.
Third parties
The extension uses no third-party services, SDKs, analytics, advertising, or data brokers. The only network request it makes is to the website you are already viewing, for its robots.txt.
Data retention
Because nothing is collected or stored, there is nothing to retain or delete. Analysis exists only in memory while the popup is open.
Children's privacy
The extension is a general-purpose developer and SEO tool, is not directed at children, and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new "Last updated" date.
