Crawlpit Monster is a local SEO crawler for freelancers and small studios, made by people who got tired of paying enterprise prices to audit a five-page client site.
Give freelancers and small studios the same quality of SEO audit the big agencies have, without the big-agency price, and without sending anyone's data to the cloud.
Why we built it
The best SEO crawlers are genuinely good. They are also priced and written for in-house teams at large companies. If you are one person auditing a handful of client sites, your options are a subscription that costs more than the project, a tool built for full-time analysts, or doing it by hand in a spreadsheet.
We wanted a fourth option: a crawler that runs on your own Mac, reaches the staging and localhost sites the cloud tools cannot, finds every real issue, and costs next to nothing. So we built it.
And because it runs locally, it collects nothing. Your client's site never touches our servers, because we do not have any that would see it. That is not a feature we bolted on. It is just how the thing works.
Four things we will not compromise on.
Honest about what it does
We will not ship a fake backlink checker just to tick a box. A local crawler cannot do that honestly, so we do not pretend it can.
Your data is yours
The crawl runs on your machine and stays there. No account, no cloud, and no tracking of the sites you audit.
Priced for real people
Free during beta, and affordable after. The tool should cost less than the audit it helps you sell to a client.
We practice what we preach
Our own site is audited with Crawlpit Monster before every release, and we publish the score. If we cannot pass, we do not ship.
The bigger plan
The crawler is the start, not the whole idea. We are building toward a place freelancers actually trust for SEO: honest tools, plain-language guides, and original research from sites we crawl ourselves. Less enterprise dashboard, more the resource you bookmark and come back to.
We are a small, independent team, and we build in the open and ship often. The blog and the newsletter are where new tools, studies, and versions land first.
And the monster?
A creature that scurries through your site, digs up the ugly stuff, and hands it back to you with a grin. Green, friendly, a little bit weird. It felt right.
